I was sad to see Jay Leno go however, I am glad that he did it with as much class as he did. He had a heart felt show and could really tell that he was sad to go. He choked up several times in the last half hour of the legendary show. It was good see a person of the media showing actual emotion proving them to be human.

Conan hit the ground running Monday night with great guest Will Ferrell who cut Conan absolutely no slack. They also had great musical guest Pearl Jam. They also did a great performance. Conan noted the fact that he was happy to move to a bankrupt state, to do a show on a last place network which is sponsored by a company that is going out of business (General Motors). I found that kind of honesty and perspective refreshing, especially for it to be seen by a major network like NBC.

I don’t see Conan as a risk for NBC. Conan has always beat all odds when it comes to his performance in the media. The former Simpson writer has a great following by a younger crowed and will do NBC well. I don’t expect the show to keep as much corky humor as it previously had but I do expect Conan to come into his own. Personally I’m pulling for Conan to succeed. He as done great things against all odds and I don’t expect him to fail.
